Job Title: Commis 1

Reports to: Shift Lead/Manager

Job Summary The Commis 1 is responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation/packaging of dishes while ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency. This role requires a solid understanding of kitchen operations and the ability to guide junior staff when needed.

• Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook dishes as per recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure all food prepared meets the required taste, presentation, and portion standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned kitchen section.
• Assist the shift lead/manager in daily kitchen operations.
• Check ingredients for freshness, proper storage, and overall quality.
• Follow portion control guidelines and work to minimize food wastage.
• Train and support junior team members and kitchen staff.
• Coordinate with other kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Requirements Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Commis 2 or in a similar kitchen role.
• Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• High focus on food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
• Culinary certification or diploma is preferred.
