Position: Newspaper Designer / Layout Designer

Job DescriptionCity Hilights, a growing state-level English daily newspaper, is looking for creative and experienced Newspaper Designers to handle end-to-end design and layout of the newspaper. The ideal candidate should have a strong sense of news design, typography, and visual storytelling, ensuring a clean, impactful, and reader-friendly layout every day.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and layout daily newspaper pages (front page, city, state, national, business, sports, features, etc.)
• Create visually appealing page structures while maintaining editorial accuracy
• Handle headlines, typography, image placement, infographics, and colour balance
• Coordinate with editorial, reporting, and advertising teams to meet daily deadlines
• Ensure consistency in branding, layout standards, and design style
• Design special pages, supplements, festival editions, and election coverage
• Prepare print-ready files as per press specifications
• Make last-minute corrections and revisions under tight deadlines
• Required Skills & QualificationsProven experience in newspaper or print media design
• Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Excellent understanding of typography, grids, and newspaper aesthetics
• Ability to work under strict deadlines and pressure
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Understanding of English news content and layout hierarchy
• Experience in state or national-level newspapers will be an added advantage
• ExperienceMinimum 1–3 years of experience in newspaper or print media design
• Freshers with strong design skills and newspaper layout understanding may also apply
