Farm Manager - Dairy

Swarnika Organic Farms is a premium A2 dairy operation in Bangalore, working only with indigenous breeds (Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar). We supply A2 milk to 50+ home-delivery customers and are scaling traditional bilona ghee production for institutional buyers.

We are hiring a Farm Manager to own daily farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily health, feeding, and welfare of cows and calves
• Twice-daily heat detection and timely AI coordination (within 12–18 hours of heat)
• Maintain breeding calendar — AI, pregnancy confirmation, dry-off, calving
• Supervise twice-daily milking, bilona ghee production, quality control
• Manage feed and fodder inventory; control per-animal feed cost
• Supervise farm workers and coordinate home-delivery logistics
• Maintain individual records for every animal
• Weekly reporting to founder on yield, breeding, costs, and fulfilment

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience managing a dairy farm
• Hands-on knowledge of heat detection, AI, calving, and herd health
• Experience with indigenous breeds preferred
• Ability to maintain records (Kannada / Hindi / English)
• Willing to live on or near the farm
• Disciplined, reliable, takes ownership

Good to Have:

• Experience with A2 milk / premium dairy operations
• Familiarity with traditional bilona ghee making
• Basic smartphone use (farm management app will be deployed)
• Veterinary first-aid knowledge
• Network of AI technicians, vets, fodder suppliers in Bangalore rural
