Field Service Engineer

Job Description: Field Service Engineer – Solar System Installation (South India Travel)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer with experience in solar system installation, commissioning, and maintenance. The role requires extensive travel across South India to support customers, execute site work, and ensure systems are operating at optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

Install, commission, and troubleshoot solar PV systems (rooftop and ground-mounted).

Conduct site assessments, electrical checks, and system testing.

Travel to customer sites across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on inverters, modules, wiring, and related components.

Diagnose system issues and implement effective technical solutions.

Ensure all installation work meets industry standards, electrical safety regulations, and company SOPs.

Provide on-site technical support and training to customers on system operation and maintenance.

Prepare detailed service reports, documentation, and feedback to the project and engineering teams.

Coordinate with logistics and procurement teams for material planning and service readiness.

Maintain service tools, test equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or related field.

1–5 years of experience in solar installation or field service engineering.

Strong understanding of solar PV components: inverters, modules, wiring, protections, and safety devices.

Ability to read single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical drawings, and technical manuals.

Willingness to travel extensively across South India (70–90% travel).

Good communication and customer handling skills.

Ability to work independently and solve on-site technical issues.

Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE compliance.

Preferred Attributes

Experience with string inverters, hybrid systems, or off-grid solutions.

Familiarity with solar monitoring platforms.

Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
