HMC & VMC Machine Setter Cum Operator

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented HMC & VMC Machine Operator cum setter to operate and maintain Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines. The ideal candidate will have experience in reading technical drawings, setting up tooling, and performing quality checks to ensure precision machining of metal components.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate HMC & VMC (Vertical Machining Center) machines to produce precision metal components.

Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.

Adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, feed, axis movement) to ensure optimal operation.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CNC programs.

Monitor machining processes and make real-time adjustments as needed.

Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

Ensure that machined parts meet quality standards and tolerances.

Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and reporting issues.

Keep the workstation clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.

Requirements:

High school diploma / ITI / diploma in mechanical or production engineering.

Proven experience as a VMC machine operator or CNC machinist.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Skilled in using measuring instruments and understanding tolerances.

Knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, or other controllers) is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with machine interfaces.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Willingness to work shifts or overtime when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or diploma in CNC machining or mechanical trades.

Experience in tool selection and G-code editing.

Knowledge of CAD/CAM software is an advantage.

Work Environment:

Factory or machine shop setting.

Exposure to noise, oil, and metal shavings; appropriate PPE must be worn.

Requires standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights.
