Home Nurse And Care Taker

Home health nurses have many responsibilities, including: 

Assessing needs: Evaluating the patient's needs and developing a care plan with a physician 

Monitoring: Monitoring the patient's response to treatment, medication, and healing progress 

Administering: Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and pain management 

Caring for wounds: Dressing and redressing wounds, checking for infection, and assessing healing progress 

Supporting: Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and toileting 

Educating: Instructing patients and their families on proper home care procedures and strategies 

• Coordinating: Coordinating care with the patient, family, support staff, physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists 

Documenting: Documenting symptoms, vital signs, and changes in behavior and mood 

Improving: Developing and improving the care plan in collaboration with other healthcare personnel 

Providing: Providing encouragement and support, and keeping the patient comfortable through palliative care.
