Job Description
- Academic support: Providing academic support, such as tutoring, group meetings, and one-on-one sessions.
- Goal setting: Helping students set goals and develop skills and habits.
- Assessments: Administering assessments to evaluate students' capabilities, interests, and personality traits.
- Career guidance: Helping students navigate career choices and build a career plan.
- Personal development: Helping students address personal challenges, such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
- Transitioning: Helping students transition from high school to college, including advising on course selection, financial aid, and the application process.
- Monitoring: Monitoring student progress, including GPAs and workloads.
- Record keeping: Keeping detailed records of sessions and progress, and ensuring student records are secure.
- Communication: Communicating with school staff, psychologists, and parents.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with instructors on plans for individual students.
- Raising awareness: Raising awareness about important issues, such as bullying and drug abuse.
- Peer counseling: Supervising peer counseling programs.
- Field experience: Supervising field experience for graduate students in counseling.
