HR Generalist

Job Summary

The HR professional will manage end-to-end human resource functions for retail and apparel operations, including recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, payroll coordination, and compliance. The role focuses on supporting store operations, enhancing employee productivity, and maintaining a positive workplace culture aligned with fashion retail standards.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Staffing

Manage bulk hiring for retail store staff (Sales Associates, Store Managers, Visual Merchandisers, All positions relevant for the company).

Coordinate interviews, onboarding, and induction programs.

Maintain talent pipelines for seasonal and expansion hiring.

Employee Relations

Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions.

Foster a positive work environment across stores and corporate offices.

Ensure adherence to company policies and retail HR best practices.

Performance Management

Implement performance appraisal systems for store and corporate employees.

Support goal setting, KPI tracking, and productivity improvement.

Coordinate training and development initiatives.

Payroll & Compliance

Coordinate payroll processing, attendance, and shift management.

Ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, labor laws, shop & establishment acts).

Maintain employee records and HR documentation.

Training & Development

Organize training programs on customer service, grooming, sales skills, and brand standards.

Support leadership development for store managers and supervisors.

HR Operations & Reporting

Manage HRMIS and employee data.

Prepare HR reports related to attrition, headcount, and recruitment metrics.

Support audits and internal reviews.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

2–6 years of HR experience, preferably in retail, apparel, fashion, or lifestyle brands.

Strong knowledge of labor laws and retail HR operations.

Skills & Competencies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong understanding of retail workforce dynamics.

Ability to manage high-volume hiring.

Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and HR software.

Preferred Experience

Experience handling multi-store retail operations.

Exposure to fashion, apparel, or lifestyle brands.

Experience in high-attrition, fast-paced retail environments.
