HVAC Design Engineer

Role Overview

The HVAC Design Engineer will be responsible for designing HVAC systems, preparing estimates and BOQs, and handling procurement of HVAC equipment and materials. The role ensures that all projects are technically compliant, cost-effective, and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering

• Prepare HVAC system designs including heat load calculations, equipment selection, and layouts.
• Design ducting, piping, and air distribution systems. Prepare HVAC drawings, schematics, and equipment schedules.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC and project specifications.

2. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare detailed BOQs covering equipment, ducting, piping, insulation, valves, grills, electricals, and controls.
• Generate project cost estimates for tenders and quotations.
• Support the sales and business development team with technical and pricing inputs.

3. Procurement

• Float RFQs to OEMs and vendors.
• Carry out technical and commercial comparison of offers.
• Finalize vendors based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Prepare technical submittals and obtain client/consultant approvals.

4. Project Support

• Provide design support during execution and installation.
• Issue shop drawings and resolve site-related technical issues.
• Prepare as-built drawings and final documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (VRF, Chillers, AHU, DX, Ventilation).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of HVAC materials, costing, and BOQs.
• Experience in dealing with HVAC OEMs and suppliers.
• Strong coordination and commercial awareness.

Qualification & Experience

Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering. 3–8 years of experience in HVAC design, estimation, and procurement.
