Logistics Executive

The Logistics Assistant is responsible for safe and timely transportation of laboratory samples, reports, consumables, and documents between collection centers, hospitals, clinics, and the central laboratory while maintaining sample integrity as per laboratory SOP and NABL guidelines.

• Key Responsibilities

A. Sample TransportationCollect blood, urine, stool, swab, biopsy, and other specimens from:

• Collection centers
• Hospitals
• Clinics
• Corporate clients
• Ensure samples are transported within defined TAT.
• Maintain cold chain (2–8°C) for temperature-sensitive samples.
• Ensure proper packaging (triple layer system if required).
• Verify patient details, barcodes, and test requisition forms before transport.

B. Documentation & Record KeepingMaintain sample pickup register.

• Obtain acknowledgment signature from receiving lab staff.
• Record pickup and delivery time accurately.
• Report discrepancies immediately.

C. Compliance & SafetyFollow biomedical waste handling rules.

• Wear ID card and uniform at all times.
• Follow infection control practices.
• Handle samples carefully to avoid spillage/breakage.
• Follow NABL and lab SOP guidelines.
• D. CoordinationCoordinate with phlebotomists and lab technicians.
• Inform operations team about delays.
• Communicate professionally with hospital staff and clients.
• E. Additional DutiesDelivery of reports when required.
• Procurement of lab consumables (if assigned).
