Job Description

  • Roles & Responsibilities: Supervise and execute installation of laboratory equipment, furniture, utility systems, and mechanical components as per approved drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate site activities, including manpower (technicians, fitters, helpers) and subcontractors.
  • Ensure correct installation of lab benches, fume hoods, ducting, piping, gas lines, HVAC connections, water supply, drainage, and exhaust systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOQs, layout plans, and installation manuals.
  • Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and statutory norms.
  • Conduct site inspections, alignment checks, and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, civil/electrical teams, and vendors for smooth execution.
  • Plan daily work schedules and track project progress against timelines.
  • Identify installation issues and provide technical solutions on-site.
  • Maintain site records, daily progress reports, material consumption, and manpower reports.
  • Ensure proper material handling, storage, and usage at site.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and handover of laboratory installations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) practices at site.
  • Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of mechanical installation practices.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory systems (preferred).
  • Ability to manage site manpower and subcontractors.
  • Good coordination and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and basic reporting.
