Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Site Engineer to oversee and manage fabrication activities at site. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality fabrication, adherence to drawings, timely execution, and coordination with various stakeholders to achieve project milestones efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Execution & Supervision

Supervise day-to-day fabrication activities at site.

Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and standards.

Monitor manpower, tools, and material utilization.

2. Fabrication Oversight

Oversee fabrication of structures, piping, supports, and mechanical components.

Verify dimensions, alignment, welding quality, and fit-up before final assembly.

Ensure compliance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).

3. Quality Control

Conduct inspections at various stages of fabrication.

Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures and documentation.

Coordinate with quality inspectors for NDT (if applicable).

4. Planning & Coordination

Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams.

Prepare daily progress reports and track work against schedule.

Identify bottlenecks and proactively resolve issues.

5. Safety Compliance

Ensure all fabrication activities comply with site safety standards.

Conduct toolbox talks and enforce PPE usage.

Coordinate with safety officers to maintain a safe work environment.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records of fabrication activities, inspections, and material usage.

Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.

Track deviations and raise RFIs (Request for Information) if required.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, assembly)

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GA, Isometric, Fabrication drawings)

Familiarity with welding standards and inspection methods

Good understanding of site execution practices

Strong coordination and communication skills

Qualifications:

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Certifications in welding inspection (preferred but not mandatory)

Preferred Experience:

Experience in industrial projects, EPC, oil & gas, steel structures, or piping works

Exposure to site fabrication and erection activities
