Medical Record Technician

Job SummaryThe MRD Technician is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and safeguarding patient medical records in both physical and electronic formats. The role ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and timely availability of medical records in compliance with hospital policies and statutory requirements.

• Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update patient medical records accurately and systematically
• File, retrieve, and archive medical records as per MRD standards
• Ensure completeness of inpatient and outpatient case sheets
• Handle discharge summaries, consent forms, investigation reports, and treatment records
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of medical records
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, and insurance departments
• Support medico-legal cases and audits by providing required records
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with NABH / hospital guidelines
• Handle EMR/HIS software for record entry and retrieval
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MRD reports
• QualificationsDiploma / Degree in Medical Records Technology (MRT) or MRD
• Graduate in any discipline with MRD certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of hospital documentation and medical terminology
