Job Title: Operation Theatre (OT) Staff Nurse / Technician

Department: Operation Theatre

Reports To: OT Incharge / Nurse Manager / Surgeon

Job Summary:

The OT Staff is responsible for assisting in surgical operations, maintaining aseptic conditions, preparing the operating room, and supporting surgeons and anesthetists. They ensure patient safety and efficient workflow before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare the operating room with sterile instruments and supplies before surgery.

Assist the surgeon and anesthetist during operations by handling instruments and monitoring patients.

Follow strict aseptic and infection control protocols.

Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and properly arranged.

Monitor patients’ vital signs and support pre-operative and post-operative care.

Maintain accurate documentation related to surgical procedures and equipment.

Check and manage inventory of OT supplies and medications.

Handle and dispose of biomedical waste as per hospital protocol.

Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure smooth procedure flow.

Qualifications:

Diploma or B.Sc. in Nursing / Operation Theatre Technology.

Registration with appropriate Nursing Council or Medical Board.

Freshers or 1–3 years of OT experience preferred.

Strong understanding of surgical instruments and OT protocols.

Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
