Job Summary

The Fabric Merchandiser Assistant supports the merchandising team in sourcing, developing, and tracking fabric orders from sampling to bulk production. The role involves close coordination with suppliers, production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery, required quality standards, and cost control.

• Key Responsibilities Assist in sourcing fabrics as per buyer and production requirements.
• Follow up with mills/suppliers for sample yardage, lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk fabric.
• Maintain fabric development records, swatches, and approval status.
• Track fabric orders and update the merchandiser on production progress.
• Coordinate with quality teams for fabric testing and approvals.
• Prepare purchase orders, costing sheets, and fabric consumption reports.
• Ensure on-time delivery of fabrics according to production schedules.
• Maintain proper documentation and update ERP or tracking systems.
• Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Fashion, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in fabric merchandising or sourcing (freshers with textile knowledge may apply).
• Basic knowledge of woven and knit fabrics.
• Good communication and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
