 Job SummaryThe Offset Printing Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining offset printing machines to produce high-quality printed materials for packaging applications. The role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Setup & Operation●    Set up, adjust, and operate single-color or multi-color offset printing machines.

●    Review job orders/specifications to determine ink, plate, paper substrate, and machine settings.

●    Mount and align printing plates, adjust rollers, feeders, and ink levels.

●    Conduct test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate color matching and print quality.

Quality Control●    Monitor print quality throughout production and perform color correction as needed.

●    Inspect printed sheets for errors such as smudges, misregistration, color variations, or defects.

●    Maintain accurate records of production output, waste, and quality checks.

 Maintenance & Troubleshooting●    Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of printing machines.

●    Troubleshoot machine issues, adjust mechanical components, and coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs.

●    Ensure proper handling and storage of printing plates, inks, chemicals, and tools.

Material Handling & Safety●    Load and unload paper stock, inks, coatings, and other materials.

●    Follow safety guidelines for operating machinery, handling chemicals, and maintaining a clean work environment.

●    Comply with all company safety policies and ISO/quality standards.

Production Support●    Collaborate with prepress, finishing, and packaging teams for smooth workflow.

●    Ensure timely completion of printing jobs to meet customer schedules.

●    Minimize waste and optimize machine efficiency.

Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience●    High School Diploma / ITI / Diploma in Printing Technology or related field.

●    2–5 years of experience operating offset printing machines (Heidelberg, Komori, KBA, or equivalent).

●    Experience in the printing & packaging industry is preferred

Technical Skills●    Strong understanding of offset printing processes, color theory, and ink management.

●    Ability to operate multi-color offset presses.

●    Knowledge of paper types, coatings, and printing materials.

Soft Skills●    Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.

●    Good communication and teamwork skills.

●    Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

●    Basic mathematical and measurement skills.

Physical Requirements●    Ability to stand for long periods.

●    Ability to lift materials (up to 25–30 kg) as needed.

●    Good hand-eye coordination and stamina.

Work Environment●    Fast-paced manufacturing setting.

●    Exposure to noise, chemicals, inks, and machinery (PPE provided).

●    Shift-based work schedule (if applicable).
