About Ma La KitchenMa La Kitchen is a highly acclaimed supper club in Bengaluru, known for its authentic Sichuan cuisine, curated dining experience, and long waitlist of loyal patrons. Operating on an exclusive, reservation-only model, Ma La Kitchen has built a strong reputation for culinary authenticity, precision, and hospitality excellence.


The brand is now expanding into a full-service restaurant in Indiranagar.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of our Indiranagar restaurant. The General Manager will be responsible for translating Ma La Kitchen’s supper club ethos into a scalable restaurant format while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, service, and guest experience.


This role requires strong operational discipline, people leadership, and a deep understanding of premium dining and reservation-led service models.


Key Responsibilities - Operations & Service ExcellenceOversee end-to-end restaurant operations, ensuring smooth daily service across front and back of house.


Maintain Ma La Kitchen’s standards of authentic Sichuan dining, guest experience, and service precision.Ensure strict adherence to SOPs related to service, hygiene, food safety, and compliance.


Team Leadership & People ManagementRecruit, train, and manage FOH teams including service staff, supervisors, and hosts.Build a culture of accountability, discipline, and hospitality excellence.


Manage staff scheduling, performance reviews, and on-floor leadership during service hours.

Guest Experience & ReservationsManage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow in line with the brand’s exclusive positioning.Personally oversee VIP guests, regular patrons, and special bookings.Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery with maturity and discretion.


Financial & Business ManagementManage P&L responsibilities including cost control, staffing costs, and inventory oversight.Drive revenue through optimal table management, reservation planning, and service efficiency.Coordinate with ownership on budgeting, reporting, and monthly performance reviews.Brand RepresentationAct as the face of Ma La Kitchen Indiranagar on the floor.Uphold and communicate the brand’s philosophy, authenticity, and standards to guests and staff alike.Ensure consistency between the original supper club experience and the new restaurant format.


Candidate Profile5–8 years of experience in restaurant management, premium dining, or hospitality-led formats.


Prior experience as a Restaurant Manager or General Manager preferred.Strong understanding of reservation-based dining and high-demand service environments.Excellent leadership, communication, and guest-handling skills.Financial acumen with experience in cost control and operational reporting.


Calm, structured, and detail-oriented with a hands-on management style.Passion for food, hospitality, and culturally authentic dining experiences.
