Operations Manager – Fintech / Payment Gateway

We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager with strong experience in fintech and payment gateways to own and scale our day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment, enjoys building processes from the ground up, and can balance people, clients, and compliance with ease.

You’ll lead the operations function end-to-end — from payment processing and settlements to client coordination and regulatory readiness — while working closely with tech, risk, compliance, and finance teams.

What You’ll Do

• Own and manage end-to-end payment gateway operations, including transactions, settlements, reconciliations, refunds, and chargebacks
• Lead and mentor the operations team, driving efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on operational matters, escalations, and service enhancements
• Work closely with tech, risk, compliance, finance, and support teams to ensure smooth execution and quick issue resolution
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, bank/partner guidelines, and internal SOPs
• Manage audits, documentation, operational risk, and compliance readiness
• Build, improve, and scale processes and workflows suited for a growing fintech startup

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in fintech, payment gateways, digital payments, or banking operations
• Strong understanding of payment processing, settlements, reconciliation, refunds, and chargebacks
• Proven experience in team management and client handling
• Working knowledge of Pay-in / Pay-out flows, KYC, AML, PCI-DSS, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced startup environment

Nice to Have

• Experience working with banks, NBFCs, wallets, or card networks
• Exposure to UPI, cards, net banking, and alternative payment methods
• Prior experience scaling operations in an early-stage or growth-stage fintech
