Purchase Manager

Role Summary:

The Purchase Manager will be fully responsible for cost control, margin improvement, vendor strategy, and inventory optimization. The role directly impacts company profitability and cash flow.

NOTE: Experience in the supermarket, hypermarket or grocery (wholesale) store only should apply

• Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute aggressive cost-reduction strategies
• Negotiate pricing, credit terms, schemes, and annual contracts with vendors
• Drive gross margin improvement across all product categories
• Identify alternate suppliers to reduce dependency risk
• Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and dead stock regularly
• Ensure zero stock-out on key SKUs
• Control excess inventory and improve stock turnover ratio
• Approve and monitor all purchase orders
• Track vendor performance (pricing, delivery time, quality)
• Work closely with Accounts for payment planning and credit cycle management
• Prepare detailed purchase MIS reports for management review
• Conduct regular market price benchmarking

• Required Skills:
• Strong negotiation and commercial acumen
• Deep understanding of inventory and margin management
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• ERP/Purchase software expertise
• Strong decision-making ability

• Qualification:
• Graduate (Commerce / Management Preferred)
• MBA in Supply Chain / Operations (Added Advantage)
