Job Description
Position Summary
Quality Manager to lead our Quality Assurance & Quality Control department and drive continuous improvement in our Quality management systems. The candidate will be responsible for implementing systematic risk management, ensuring process compliance, preventing defects, and supporting business growth through effective quality practices. This role will report to the Plant Head
Organizational Positioning
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management & Process Optimization:
Systematic Risk Identification and Mitigation Planning
· Proactively identify, document, and assess potential quality risks across all operational areas
· Develop and implement comprehensive risk mitigation strategies with measurable outcomes
· Monitor residual risk ratings and ensure continuous improvement in risk reduction effectiveness
· Maintain quarterly risk assessment reports and track mitigation plan implementation rates
Process Evaluation and System Setup
· Conduct regular audits of processes, systems, and interlocks to ensure proper setup and compliance
· Identify process gaps during systematic reviews and develop corrective action plans
· Ensure timely closure of corrective actions with accountability for implementation effectiveness
· Maintain high process audit scores through continuous monitoring and improvement
Quality Assurance & Prevention :
Defect Prevention and Process Capability Assurance
· Monitor and improve First Pass Yield (FPY) rates across all production processes
· Ensure Process Capability Index (Cpk) values meet or exceed target specifications (≥1.33)
· Minimize quality alerts and escapes through proactive quality management
· Implement preventive measures to reduce quality issues before they impact production or customers
Quality Integration into Operations
· Lead quality improvement initiatives and drive continuous improvement culture
· Design and deliver effective operator quality training programs
· Measure training effectiveness through post-training quality outcomes and feedback
· Build quality considerations into all operational processes from design to delivery
Operational Excellence
Rework Reduction and Cost Management
· Systematically reduce rework rates through root cause analysis and corrective actions
· Monitor and control cost of rework as percentage of total production costs
· Minimize operational disruption by reducing time lost to rework activities
· Implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurring quality issues
Compliance & Customer Relations
Regulatory and Customer Compliance
· Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and customer specifications
· Manage external audit processes and minimize major/minor findings
· Maintain high customer satisfaction through timely resolution of complaints within SLA
· Support regulatory inspections and maintain compliance documentation
Sales Support and Customer Onboarding
Achieve high first-time approval rates for customer samples
· Ensure efficient turnaround times for sample preparation and delivery
· Minimize QA-related delays in customer onboarding processes
· Maintain comprehensive quality readiness checklists for new customer onboarding
· Collaborate effectively with sales teams and maintain high internal stakeholder satisfaction
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field
· Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in quality management roles
· Proven track record in manufacturing or process industries
· Experience with regulatory compliance and customer audits
Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, or equivalent)
· Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis
· Experience with risk management methodologies (FMEA, Risk Assessment)
· Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar improvement methodologies
· Familiarity with regulatory requirements and customer quality standards
Leadership & Management Skills
· Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Experience in training development and delivery
· Ability to work collaboratively with sales, production, and engineering teams

The Quality Manager will be evaluated based on:

Reporting Structure
· Reports to: Plant Manager
· Direct Reports: Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians, Quality Inspectors
· Matrix Relationships: Production Teams, Engineering, Sales, Regulatory Affairs
Work Environment
· Manufacturing facility with occasional travel for customer visits and audits
· Standard business hours with flexibility for production support and customer requirements
· Participation in cross-functional project teams and continuous improvement initiatives
