Job Description
Role Overview
The Receptionist is the face of Grand Poker Arena — the first person a member sees when they walk in and the last voice they hear when they leave. This role is about more than managing a front desk; it is about creating a moment. Every member should feel welcomed, recognised, and valued from the instant they arrive.
We are looking for someone with exceptional presentation, a warm and confident personality, and the ability to make every member — whether it is their first visit or their hundredth — feel like they belong here.
Key Responsibilities
1. Member Welcome & Check-In
• Greet every member at the entrance with warmth, professionalism, and a smile — setting the tone for their entire visit.
• Verify member identity and complete the check-in process accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure first-time visitors and guests are properly introduced to the club — explaining the environment, rules, and facilities with confidence.
• Manage the entry register and ensure no individual enters without completing the required documentation.
2. Front Desk Operations
• Man the reception desk throughout the shift — ensuring it is always attended, presentable, and organised.
• Handle incoming calls and messages — directing them to the appropriate team member promptly and professionally.
• Manage member waitlists and communicate seat availability to the floor team.
• Coordinate with the Floor Manager on table availability and player flow.
• Maintain a neat, premium reception area — the desk and entrance must always reflect GPA's standard.
3. Member Communication
• Answer member queries about the club, games, and policies clearly and courteously.
• Relay member requests and feedback to the relevant department without delay.
• Inform members of upcoming events, tournaments, and club announcements as directed by management.
• Assist the Guest Relations Manager in maintaining member records and preferences.
4. Compliance & Documentation
• Collect and verify identification documents from new members and guests as per KYC requirements.
• Ensure all entry documentation is completed accurately before permitting access.
• Maintain the visitor log and entry register with precision — these are compliance documents.
• Flag any documentation irregularities to the Floor Manager or GM immediately.
5. General Support
• Coordinate with the F&B team to ensure members are attended to from the moment they arrive.
• Assist the Guest Relations Manager during events and tournament days — registration support, guest management, and hospitality.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the club layout, game types, and operational policies to assist members accurately.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a front-desk, receptionist, or customer-facing hospitality role.
• Exceptional personal presentation — you are the face of a premium brand.
• Warm, confident, and articulate communication in English and Kannada; Hindi is an advantage.
• Calm and composed under pressure — busy nights and impatient members are part of the role.
• Reliability and punctuality — the reception desk must be covered at all times.
Strongly Preferred
• Prior experience in a premium hospitality environment — hotel front desk, lounge, members club, or high-end F&B.
• Familiarity with check-in systems, visitor management, or CRM tools.
• Comfort working late-night and rotational shifts.
Personal Attributes
• Genuinely warm — members should feel welcomed, not processed.
• Attentive — notices when someone needs help before they ask.
• Poised — able to handle difficult members or awkward situations with grace.
• Takes pride in their space — the reception area is their domain and it shows.
