Job Description

Job Title: Restaurant Captain (Front of House)

Location: Indranagar

Department: Front of House

Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Assistant Manager

Job Summary

The Restaurant Captain oversees the Front of House operations, ensuring smooth service, excellent guest experience, and effective coordination between the service team and kitchen. The ideal candidate is a confident leader with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily FOH operations to maintain high service standards.

• Greet and interact with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any service concerns promptly.

• Assign tables, manage reservations, and ensure optimal table rotation during peak hours.

• Train, mentor, and motivate service staff, fostering a positive and professional team environment.

• Liaise with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.

• Oversee the setup and cleanliness of the dining area before and after service.

• Monitor staff appearance, attendance, and adherence to company policies.

• Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and beverage offerings to assist guests effectively.

• Handle billing issues, special requests, and VIP guest management.

• Support management in implementing service improvements and guest engagement strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine-dining or high-volume restaurant.

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Professional demeanor with a focus on guest satisfaction.

• Basic knowledge of POS systems and restaurant software.
