Department: Operations / Logistics Support

Reporting To: Operations Manager / Plant Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-time / Shift-based

1. Purpose of the Role

To support smooth operations in the manufacturing plant by ensuring the timely movement of parts, tools, consumables, and documents between departments, warehouses, and vendors. The role is critical to minimizing production delays and maintaining workflow continuity.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Transport parts, components, tools, and paperwork between departments (e.g., Stores, Production, Quality, Maintenance).
• Pick up and deliver materials from/to external vendors or service providers as required.
• Assist in basic material handling, inventory tracking, or data logging.
• Support the stores and production team in maintaining material availability at workstations.
• Coordinate with supervisors to prioritize urgent or critical deliveries.
• Ensure all transported items are handled carefully and documented appropriately.
• Comply with safety regulations, company policies, and PPE usage.

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely completion of assigned delivery tasks
• Zero errors or losses in material/document handling
• Reduction in wait time for parts or tools on the production floor
• Adherence to safety standards and route efficiency
• Responsiveness to urgent material movement needs

4. Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum education: 10th / 12th Pass
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing plant layout and workflows
• Ability to carry or move light-to-medium weight materials
• Good communication and time management skills
• Basic understanding of safety norms in a factory setting
• Valid driving license (if external pickups/deliveries are part of the role)

5. Collaboration & Reporting

• Reports to: Plant Supervisor / Operations Manager
• Works closely with:
• Stores/Inventory team
• Production Supervisors
• Quality Control team
• External vendors or service providers (as required)

6. Growth Opportunities

• Can progress to roles such as Store Assistant, Inventory Clerk, or Dispatch Coordinator
• On-the-job training opportunities for basic warehouse or logistics operations
