Job Description: Sales Consultant (Acquisition)

Role Title: Sales Consultant – Acquisition


Role Purpose:


The Sales Consultant (Acquisition) is responsible for acquiring new customers for TallyPrime by identifying potential prospects, engaging them through effective sales conversations, and converting them through product demonstrations and consultative selling. The role focuses on expanding the partner’s customer base while ensuring a positive first-time experience for customers.


Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification: Graduate (any stream), preferably with a commerce background

Experience: 0–2 years of sales experience in field or inside sales. Energetic freshers with strong communication skills and willingness to learn may also be considered.

Language Proficiency: Local language (mandatory) and basic spoken/written English

Product Knowledge: Knowledge of TallyPrime is an added advantage


Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Market Development

Identify potential customers through field visits, referrals, cold calls, and local networking.

Build a steady pipeline of prospects through influencers, existing customers, and market exploration.


Customer Engagement & Product Demonstration

Understand customer business requirements and challenges.

Conduct personalized product demonstrations of TallyPrime and explain relevant benefits.

Address customer queries and concerns effectively.


Sales Closure & Post-Sales Coordination

Handle objections confidently and guide prospects toward purchase decisions.

Close sales and coordinate with internal teams for billing, implementation, and onboarding.


Influencer Engagement & Events

Develop relationships with Chartered Accountants, GST practitioners, and business influencers.

Participate in events, seminars, and customer engagement programs to generate leads.


Lead Management & Sales Planning

Maintain accurate lead data and track progress through the Tally Track (TT2.0) portal.

Plan daily and weekly field visits to ensure consistent sales pipeline and target achievement.


Performance Expectations:

Minimum 8 successful sales per month

Maintain a 3× pipeline of potential leads

Achieve gross revenue equivalent to at least 3× salary


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Leads generated per week

Product demos conducted per week

Number of new customers acquired

Opportunity-to-closure conversion ratio


Key Skills Required:

Communication, customer engagement, probing and problem understanding, objection handling, negotiation, lead generation, sales planning, telecalling, closing skills, CRM usage (Tally Track portal), and working knowledge of TallyPrime.
