Job Description
The Sales Engineer bridges the gap between technical expertise and sales, acting as a critical resource in understanding customer needs and presenting suitable manufacturing solutions. This role involves both technical consultation and salesmanship, requiring a strong understanding of the company’s products and the ability to communicate their benefits effectively to customers in the manufacturing sector.
- Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Consultation
- Understand and analyze customer requirements to recommend suitable products or solutions.
- Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective and existing clients.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to customize solutions based on client specifications.
- Sales Activities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the manufacturing industry.
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals.
- Prepare and deliver detailed sales proposals, quotations, and contracts.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, providing ongoing support and assistance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries and troubleshooting.
- Gather feedback from clients to improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.
- Market Analysis and Strategy
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences.
- Work with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns for the manufacturing sector.
- Provide input for product development based on customer and market insights.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and technical requests.
- Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in sales or a technical role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
