Job Description

The Sales Engineer bridges the gap between technical expertise and sales, acting as a critical resource in understanding customer needs and presenting suitable manufacturing solutions. This role involves both technical consultation and salesmanship, requiring a strong understanding of the company’s products and the ability to communicate their benefits effectively to customers in the manufacturing sector.

  1. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Consultation

  • Understand and analyze customer requirements to recommend suitable products or solutions.
  • Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to customize solutions based on client specifications.
  1. Sales Activities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the manufacturing industry.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed sales proposals, quotations, and contracts.
  1. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, providing ongoing support and assistance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries and troubleshooting.
  • Gather feedback from clients to improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.
  1. Market Analysis and Strategy

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns for the manufacturing sector.
  • Provide input for product development based on customer and market insights.
  1. Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and technical requests.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in sales or a technical role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Key Skills and CompetenciesTechnical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing products and processes.
  • Sales Acumen: Ability to identify opportunities, influence decision-makers, and close deals.
