Job Description

Job SummaryThe Senior Manager – Spare Parts is responsible for overall management of the spare parts department including inventory control, procurement, sales of parts, vendor coordination, and ensuring availability of genuine parts for service operations. The role focuses on improving parts sales, maintaining optimum stock levels, and supporting workshop efficiency.

Key Responsibilities1. Spare Parts Operations

  • Oversee the complete operations of the spare parts department.
  • Ensure availability of required spare parts for workshop and retail customers.
  • Monitor daily parts sales and service parts supply.
  • Maintain proper storage, handling, and identification of parts.

2. Inventory Management

  • Maintain optimum stock levels and avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
  • Monitor fast moving, slow moving, and non-moving inventory.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Implement effective inventory control systems.

3. Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for timely procurement of spare parts.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and supply terms with suppliers.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure quality standards.

4. Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Develop strategies to increase spare parts sales.
  • Monitor parts sales targets and profitability.
  • Coordinate with service department to maximize parts utilization.
  • Promote genuine spare parts to customers.

5. Team Management

  • Lead and supervise spare parts executives, storekeepers, and support staff.
  • Provide training on product knowledge and inventory systems.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to company policies.

6. Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare monthly MIS reports on inventory, sales, and consumption trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of purchase, stock movement, and sales.
  • Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, or related field.
  • Additional certification in inventory management or supply chain is an advantage.
  • Experience8 – 12 years of experience in spare parts management, preferably in automobile dealerships or service industries.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years in a managerial role.
