Staff Nurse

Core Responsibilities & Roles

Health & Safety Management:

Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and return-to-work health screenings.

Provide first aid and emergency care for work-related injuries/illnesses.

Develop and implement health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness programs (e.g., nutrition, smoking cessation).

Manage case management for worker's compensation and disability.

Hazard & Risk Control:

Identify, assess, and control workplace hazards (physical, chemical, ergonomic).

Monitor environmental factors like air quality, noise, and sanitation.

Advise on protective devices and safe work practices.

Education & Advocacy:

Educate employees and employers on safety, health risks, and injury prevention.

Act as a link between employees, management, and health agencies.

Develop and deliver safety training programs (e.g., hazard communication, emergency response).

Administration & Collaboration:

Maintain health records and reports.

Collaborate with hygienists, physicians, safety engineers, and HR.

Participate in policy-making, research, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
