Team Leader - Operations

A Unit Manager in banking is responsible for leading a team of relationship managers

or sales staff to drive revenue, achieve sales targets, and deliver high-quality

customer service. Key duties include managing daily operations, developing sales 

strategies, onboarding customers, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring compliance with

financial regulations and bank policies. 

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation: Drive sales targets for various banking products (loans, credit cards, accounts) and increase wallet share of existing customers.

Team Leadership & Coaching: Manage a team of relationship managers or telecallers, providing feedback, coaching, and performance management (KPIs/appraisals).

Customer Experience & Quality: Ensure 360-degree banking services, delivering superior service quality and managing customer escalations.

Operations & Compliance: Manage day-to-day unit operations, adhering to strict regulatory, legal, and "Fair to Bank, Fair to Customer" standards.

Performance Monitoring: Analyze daily/monthly business numbers to identify gaps and implement corrective actions, reporting outcomes to senior management. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 1–10+ years in banking/finance, specifically in sales, operations, or team handling roles.

Leadership: Proven capability in leading teams, motivating employees, and managing performance under pressure.

Product Knowledge: Sound knowledge of retail banking products and digital banking channels.

Communication: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Education: Graduation in a relevant field.
