Waiter / Steward

Reports To: Shift Supervisor / Café Manager

Job SummaryThe Steward is responsible for delivering excellent customer service by attending to guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the café/restaurant. The role ensures a pleasant dining experience while following company SOPs.

• Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer ServiceGreet customers warmly and guide them to their seats
• Present menus and explain food & beverage items when required
• Take orders accurately and repeat orders to avoid errors
• Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally
• Check on guests during service and respond to requests politely
• Food & Beverage HandlingEnsure correct portioning and presentation while serving
• Carry trays safely and serve items as per service standards
• Follow hygiene and food safety practices at all times
• Coordinate with kitchen and barista team for smooth service
• Cleanliness & HygieneMaintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, floors, and service areas
• Clear used dishes promptly and reset tables for new guests
• Ensure wash areas and service stations are clean and organized
• Follow personal grooming and uniform standards
• Operational SupportAssist in opening and closing duties of the café
• Refill water, condiments, cutlery, and service supplies
• Report breakages, shortages, or maintenance issues to supervisor
• Follow all SOPs, safety guidelines, and company policies
• Skills & RequirementsBasic knowledge of food & beverage service
• Good communication skills (local language & basic English preferred)
• Polite, patient, and customer-focused attitude
• Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Physically fit to stand for long hours and carry trays
• Experience & QualificationMinimum qualification: 10th / 12th pass (preferred)
• Freshers can apply; prior café or restaurant experience is an advantage
