Job Description
- Key Responsibilities1. Welding & FabricationPerform welding on MS, GI, and stainless steel pipes used in fire hydrant and sprinkler systems.
- Fabricate and install pipe supports, brackets, frames, and stands.
- Carry out gas cutting, arc welding, TIG/MIG welding as per site requirements.
- Ensure strong, leak-proof, and accurate joints.
- 2. Installation SupportAssist in erection of fire hydrant pipelines, sprinkler lines, hose reel supports, pump room structures, and related fire safety equipment.
- Fabricate mounts and enclosures for fire alarm and security system equipment where required.
- Coordinate with fire technicians and engineers during installation.
- 3. Maintenance & RepairRepair damaged pipelines, valves supports, tanks, and metal structures.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and carry out safe on-site welding work.
- Replace corroded or weak metal parts.
- 4. Safety & ComplianceFollow fire safety norms, welding safety standards, and site safety procedures.
- Use proper PPE: welding helmet, gloves, goggles, shoes, apron, etc.
- Ensure fire watch and safe work permits when welding in sensitive areas.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas.
- 5. Quality ControlCheck alignment, level, and strength of welded joints.
- Rectify defects such as cracks, leaks, and weak welds.
- Support pressure testing and inspection of fire pipelines.
- 6. Material & Tool HandlingProper use and maintenance of welding machines, gas sets, grinders, and cutting tools.
- Ensure correct storage of electrodes, gas cylinders, and tools.
- Report material requirements to the supervisor.
- Additional ExpectationsRead and understand basic drawings and layouts.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
- Support project deadlines and emergency fire safety works.
