Jobs and Responsibilities for a Junior Craftsman

1. Wood working:

● Assist in cutting, assembling, and finishing wooden structures and components.

● Operate basic woodshop tools such as jigsaws, sanders, and hand tools.

● Support joinery work and surface preparation prior to finish

2. Metal Working:

● Perform basic metal cutting, grinding, filing, and drilling tasks.

● Support fabrication of structural frames, sculptures, and mounts.

● Assist in MIG/TIG welding under supervision (if applicable)

3. Paint/polish & finishing:

● Prepare surfaces for finishing (wood, metal, composites).

● Assist in applying primer, paint, PU coating, and polishing finishes.

● Follow correct sanding and buffing techniques for high-quality output

4. General Workshop Duties:

● Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, machines, and workspace.

● Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

● Support in moving, installing, or packing finished products.

● Collaborate with the design and execution team during prototyping or final fabrication stages.

5. Continuous Improvement:

● Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices.

● Propose and implement design improvements to enhance product performance and

reduce costs.
