Job Opening for Structure Lead at Larsen & Toubro PES

L&T is India’s biggest private company supplying defense equipment’s with over 40 years of experience in this field. We provide indigenous, design to deliver solutions across defense spectrum from land based weapon systems, air defense and artillery systems, unmanned systems, naval weapon systems, communication systems, avionics, C4I and missile systems.

L&T is part of the development ecosystem of large and strategic Unmanned Aerial Vehicles along with the ab-initio development of tactical UAV’s. These unmanned platforms provide a technological edge to forces on ground and greatly contribute to our security. Current role is towards the development efforts of these platforms, from inception to user trials and offers immense job satisfaction.     

Responsibilities:

1. Own structural design for major airframe assembly and its components (fuselage, wing, empennage, control surfaces, associated tooling, fixtures and interfaces etc.)
2. Lead teams performing static, fatigue, and damage-tolerance analysis
3. Review and approve stress reports, margins of safety, and design release packages
4. Ensure compliance to applicable DGCA / CEMILAC requirements
5. Interface with certification agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders
6. Drive weight optimisation, material selection, and structural trade studies
7. Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and production-ready
8. Support ground and flight test programs, including test correlation and issue resolution
9. Build, mentor, and manage high-performing structural engineering teams

Required Qualification:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
2. 10–15 years experience in aircraft structural design and analysis
3. Strong experience with large aircraft metallic and composite structures
4. Proficiency in FEA tools (NASTRAN / ANSYS / ABAQUS) and CAD (CATIA / NX)
5. Solid understanding of fatigue, damage tolerance, fail-safe design principles
6. Experience supporting certification or military clearance programs
7. Proven ability to lead teams and deliver under schedule and cost pressure

Desirable Experience:

1. Experience on large UAV and manned platforms 
2. Exposure to Indian or global aerospace OEM / Tier-1 programs
3. Familiarity with AS9100, manufacturing processes, and supply-chain integration
4. Experience working with Indian certification agencies and customers
