API Automation Lead

Area(s) of responsibility

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience in API automation testing.
• Hands-on expertise with Rest Assured / Karate / Postman / Newman.
• Proficiency in Java or Python.
• Experience testing REST and SOAP services.
• Good understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, OAuth2, JWT, API security.
• Experience with JSON, XML, Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Hands-on with Git, CI/CD tools, and basic Linux commands.
• Familiarity with database validation (SQL).

Desired Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• UI automation exposure (Selenium/Cypress/Playwright) is a plus.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7–11 years of experience in QA/Automation with strong focus on API testing.
• At least 2+ years in a Lead or Senior Automation role.
• Experience in enterprise‑scale or high‑volume applications preferred.
