Application Support Engineer
Project Role : Application Support EngineerProject Role Description : Act as software detectives, provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems.
Must have skills : Oracle Planning and Budgeting (EPBCS)
Good to have skills : Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close (FCC)
Minimum 5 year(s) of experience is required
Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education
Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, you will engage in a variety of tasks that involve identifying and resolving issues within critical business systems. Your typical day will include collaborating with team members to troubleshoot software problems, analyzing system performance, and ensuring that all components function seamlessly. You will also be responsible for documenting solutions and providing support to users, ensuring that their experience with the software is efficient and effective. Your role will require a proactive approach to problem-solving, as you will be expected to anticipate potential issues and address them before they impact business operations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
1. Support & Operations (Primary Focus)
Lead day-to-day L2/L3 support for EPBCS and FCCS.
Monitor and troubleshoot:
o Data load failures
o Business rules/Calculation errors
o Consolidation & translation issues
o Smart View problems
o Metadata load/validation errors
o Integration and automation failures
Maintain system health, security, jobs, and EPMAutomate schedules.
Ensure adherence to close calendar and planning cycles.
2. Incident, Problem & Change Management
Own ticket lifecycle in ITSM tools (ServiceNow/Jira).
Perform root-cause analysis and create permanent fixes.
Manage and deliver minor/standard enhancements (forms, grids, rules, mappings, dashboards).
Ensure SLA compliance for incident resolution and service requests.
Drive continuous improvement for reducing recurring issues.
3. Functional Expertise
Support FP&A for:
o Opex/Capex
o Workforce planning
o Scenario/version management
Support Controllership for:
o Consolidation logic
o Intercompany eliminations
o Ownership management
o FX translation
o Journal workflows
o Close Manager/Task Manager
4. Technical Activities
Manage Data Integration/Data Management jobs, mappings, and validation rules.
Update or optimize:
o Business rules/Calc Manager
o Groovy scripts (optional but preferred)
o Forms, dashboards, and security
Monitor cube performance and optimize calc times and form response times.
Own migration activities (Dev Test Prod) with proper governance.
5. Team Leadership
Lead a team of analysts/consultants (onshore/offshore).
Review team s technical work and ensure quality.
Provide daily direction, task assignments, and workload management.
Mentor juniors and drive knowledge-sharing sessions.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (ERP, BI, Infrastructure).
6. Stakeholder & Business Engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for Finance, FP&A, Corporate Accounting.
Communicate outages, issue impacts, and RCA reports.
Partner with business users during monthly/quarterly close cycles.
Prepare dashboards for ticket metrics, SLA performance, and system health.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Planning and Budgeting (EPBCS).
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close (FCC).
- Strong analytical skills to assess system performance and identify areas for improvement.
EPBCS (Financials, Workforce, Capex, Projects – as applicable)
FCCS (Consolidation, Translation, Journals, Intercompany, Task Manager)
Smart View troubleshooting
Data Management/Data Exchange
Calc Manager & Groovy (preferred)
EPMAutomate scripting
Metadata governance & updates
Strong performance troubleshooting techniques

Additional Information:
7–10+ years overall EPM experience.
3–5 years hands-on experience in EPBCS and FCCS Cloud.
Prior experience in AMS/Support projects is mandatory.
Experience working with global finance teams and close cycles.
Nice-to-Have
Exposure to EDMCS, Narrative Reporting, ARCS, TRCS.
Experience with Oracle Fusion or SAP as source ERP.
Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, or CI/CD for EPM.
Oracle EPM Cloud Certifications.
