Team Overview 

1. The position in discussion is with the Tax Technology (ES) team consists of highly skilled resources that are dedicated to supporting our member firms, learning and deploying leading practices and innovative solutions, and helping our clients grow. 
2. Our team comprises software engineers, technical leads, architects, PMs, testers, test architect, data scientists, data engineers etc. with strong technical and tax domain knowledge. Team builds data/engineering products and solutions for our tax business and clients.  Client engagements are run leveraging these products & solutions
3. We are looking for a business analyst who will work as part of the product development team to execute tasks which can affect more than one office, department, or client. In addition to helping in process improvements, the BA will be working primarily on analysis in the areas of the GMS practice to determine its objectives and how it operates within the information technology framework. The suitable candidate will need to build their knowledge to integrate across the diverse functional processes and accountabilities of the GMS technology tools with a focus of working on the GMS application. The position demands strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate business requirements into actional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership and Product Vision:
  • Develop and implement business analysis strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Ensure the product aligns with the company’s overall strategy and goals.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Customer Focus:
  • Act as the primary liaison between business units, product owners, technology teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve products and processes. 
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer needs, ensuring business analysis and product activities deliver high-quality, customer-centric outcomes.
• Project and Product Oversight:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of business analysis projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and with quality.
  • Take ownership of assigned products and applications, identify gaps, and propose enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that outlines direction, key milestones, and communicates to stakeholders.
• Requirements Management and Backlog Management:
  • Lead the process of gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
  • Translate requirements into functional/technical specifications and detailed user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is transparent, visible, and aligned with business objectives.
• Sprint Planning and Execution:
  • Participate in sprint refinement call, and sprint planning call, to refine the user stories. Ensure the backlog is ready for the upcoming 2 sprints.
  • Participate in sprint planning meetings to help define the sprint goals and backlog items. Always keep backlog up to date. 
  • Ensure that the development team understands the requirements and the value of each backlog item.
  • Break down high-level requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria and collaborate with all the teams to design (including mock-ups) and implement solutions. 
  • Monitor the progress of the sprint and provide guidance and clarification as needed.
• Process Improvement and Change Management:
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and methodologies in business analysis.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and ensure smooth adoption of new systems and technologies.
• Data Analysis and Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Monitor product performance metrics, using data-driven insights to inform enhancement and iterations. 
• Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on projects.
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of business analysis deliverables.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of business analysis processes and outputs.
• Market and User Research:
  • Conduct market research and user interviews to understand customer needs and market trends.
  • Use insights from research to inform product decisions and prioritize features.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to all relevant parties.

Job Requirements

Mandatory Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or a related field.
• Minimum 6-7 years’ experience as a Business System Analyst or in a similar role.
• Expertise in prioritizing the product backlog based on value, feedback and technical feasibility
• Proficiency in writing clear and concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria 
• Strong skills in managing and communicating with stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, provide updates, and align on business priorities
• Ability to use data and analytics to make informed product decisions and measure the success of product features
• Understanding of UI/UX design principles and ability to collaborate with designers to create user-friendly interfaces
• Actively participate in test reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment
• Extensive experience with agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe, and conducting agile ceremonies
• Basic understanding of web technologies and cloud services - Azure
• Ability to work under guidance and should have passion to learn and adapt to new technologies
