Assistant Manager

Roles and responsibilities.

• Good understanding of Linux and different version of Linux:
  • OpenSUSE leap 15.5
  • CentOs
  • OPenSuse
  • Red Hat Enterprise
• Install, configure, and maintain servers in a Linux environment
• Proven experience as Senior L2 or L3 support/engineering roles. Proven experience managing on-prem Linux  infrastructure, the candidate will also have a clear understanding of the layers and technology stacks
• Monitor the health of the Linux servers through both automated and manual processes
• Design, develop, and implement infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools through scripts such as BASH and PowerShell.
• Perform server hardware maintenance, upgrades and DR (Failover/Failback) exercises.
• Support and maintain the Superna Search and Recovery platform.
• Support and maintain the Superna DR platform.
• Create test automation frameworks in collaboration with team members or other IT departments
• Maintain software repositories and apply software updates
• Maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs
• Performs continuous research and audits to ensure continuous and high levels of performance, security and availability of Linux operating systems and peripheral devices.
• Open, modify and close change control tickets related to the management and maintenance of Linux assets.
• Knowledge of Datacenter management including capacity management, rack and stack, hardware replacements including onsite support for servers and storage

Desirable (not essential) of the following:

• Good knowledge of Microsoft-based common products (HyperV, Windows, AD, DC, SQL).
• Anti-Virus Tools
• SCCM
• SCOM
• Good knowledge of Qualys (or equivalent product) for vulnerability and patching management.
• HP (MSA) and Dell EMC (Isilon) Storage arrays.
• Proven experience managing on-prem infrastructure, the candidate will also have a clear understanding of the layers and technology stacks.
• Proven experience managing physical, virtual servers and hypervisors.
• Proven experience and/or participation to “on-prem DR tests/scenarios”.
• Good knowledge of SAN and NAS environments.
• Good knowledge of ETH Network principles, methodologies, architectures.
• Critical and analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Be THE SME for LINUX-based technologies.
• Accustomed to raise and drive complex cases with 3rd Party Maintainers, Vendors and OEM when required.
• The candidate must be autonomous and capable of working with little supervision.
• Self-confident with a can-do attitude.
