Job Title: Data Analyst – Tax Team

Location: Bangalore

Job Summary: EXL's Tax Team is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Analyst  to join our Finance and Accounting team. The successful candidate will manage and analyze tax-related data, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax strategies through effective use of Vertex.

Key Responsibilities:

• End – to – End tax tagging of menu items across the US and Canada regions.
• Analyze large data sets to extract merchant information and assign appropriate tax tags.
• Co-ordinate with COE team related menu maker items to ensure accurate tax tagging.
• INCA item tax tagging and related data processing through Alteryx
• custom SQL queries to identify, investigate and correct, incorrect or missing tax tags.
• Design and created Alteryx workflows for testing and validation purposes.

Communicate clearly and professionally with tax authorities, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with Sales & Use Tax regulations in US.
  • Data Analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Application skills  - Query Builder, Tableau, Alteryx
• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex tax data and provide actionable insights.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify issues within tax systems and develop effective solutions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
• Ownership: Proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks and projects.
