Inviting applications for the role of - Assistant Manager - Foreign Trade Zone
The Analyst of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Operations manages Customer’s FTZ, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance. This individual oversees import administration and control within government rules and regulations pertaining to a foreign trade zone operation. The SAFTZ interfaces with internal and external customers, freight forwarders, customs officers, and other functional areas to ensure proper customs admission and entry for goods into and out of a free trade zone. The SAFTZ has strong knowledge of customs regulations, FTZ Regulations, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
Responsibility
Essential Functions:
• Oversee / execute daily foreign trade zone operations and the maintenance of internal controls as required by the FTZ regulations to include: daily inventory balances; monitoring zone admission data; conducting weekly estimate (import /export) process.
• Manage FTZ related data and supporting documentation for submission of 214, 3461, 7501, 7512 forms to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on a daily, weekly and periodic basis are filed.
• Prepare annual FTZ Board reports and CBP annual reconciliation reports. Ensure all FTZ records are maintained and readily retrievable in accordance with the applicable recordkeeping regulations Proactively address
• Identify, and resolve FTZ inventory issues; verify inventory transactions, including but not limited to receipts, shipments and inventory adjustments; investigate and act on overages and shortages.
• Act as primary liaison with CBP (Customs) on behalf of Customer’s to ensure proper FTZ procedures and facilitate relationships with FDA, FCC, Fish & Wildlife, and Other Government Agencies as necessary.
• Cultivate business partnerships with Inventory Control, Integration Point (FTZ software provider), Customer’s Brokerage provider and Freight forwarders to spearhead balancing concerns and ensure all FTZ reporting activities are timely and compliant.
• Lead risk management for FTZ purposes by reviewing CBP documentation, auditing FTZ transactions, complying with CBP and FTZ Board requirements Write clear and well-structured business requirements/documents regarding legislative changes impacting Foreign Trade Zones.
• Develop refine and maintain internal FTZ operating procedures
• Test business processes and recommend improvements, verify FTZ Operations Manuals are kept up to date and accurately reflect current operations and practices.
• Facilitate quarterly calls with Integration Point ensuring Customer’s SOP is up to date.
• Execute and ensure compliance to the global trade compliance policy.
• Create or revise SOPs and Work Instructions as needed.
• Anticipate regulatory changes related to trade compliance. Provide regulatory interpretation and implementation guidance to impacted geographies and businesses.
• Develop internal FTZ Compliance training to include Integration Point System and reviews of SOP.
• Research / engage in FTZ and compliance webinars, educate and guide FTZ support team when necessary.
• Perform data discovery, analysis, and modelling – Identify, lead, and implement process improvement opportunities. Partner with Senior Customs Compliance analyst and Senior Supply Chain analyst to launch / maintain ‘Duty Engineering’ program with Merchant team, goal to lower company duty rates through knowledge of product composition and Duty implications.
• Develop and build strong relationships with internal departments involved in FTZ activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related filed preferred.
• Licenses / Certifications / Training: Customs Broker License preferred
