Associate 1 - Tax R&D Costing

Roles & responsibilities

KPMG is currently seeking an Associate, R&D Tax Credit in our Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice. Working as an Associate in this team, your responsibilities will include:

·Develop knowledge in federal tax credits including but not limited to, Credit for Increasing Research Activities (R&D) (Sections 41 and 174) and Accounting Method assessment projects and other related areas that are introduced or modified in the TCJA from the US GAAP perspective. ·Assist with implementation of projects by organizing and analyzing financial documentation, performing tax technical research, calculating the credit under IRC Section 41, documenting the credit through technical memoranda, opinion letters, quantitative workpapers, and more. ·Apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations and industries. ·Interface with onshore personnel to obtain information and provide high-quality deliverables on time and within budget. ·Learn and utilize various technologies that the team uses on a daily basis, such as generative AI, Alteryx, MS Tools, and other relevant software. Stay updated on technological advancements and integrate them into your work to enhance efficiency and accuracy. ·Clearly communicate work plan and project objectives to teams, ensuring seamless workflow between local and offshore multidisciplinary teams. ·Comply with trainings and other mandatory requirements from time to time based on those assigned in this role.  

This role is for you if you have  the below

Experience & Qualifications:

·Bachelor of Accountancy/Finance and/or Master of Accountancy/Finance, from an accredited college/university and/or Chartered Accountant. ·0-2 years of Tax-R&D experience ·Proficiency in basic MS applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, with a general understanding of data analysis techniques. ·Excellent written and verbal communication skills ·Attention to detail - Quality and time conscious
