Team Overview
The position in discussion is with the Business License Tax team in Indirect Tax practice at KGS. The individual would be reporting into the Assistant manager / Manager within Tax – Indirect Tax practice at KGS. This team is a part of Indirect Tax – Business License core Service Delivery business unit of KPMG Global Services.

The position in discussion is with the Business License team in Indirect Tax Service line at KPMG Global Services (KGS). This role is an integral part of the firm’s strategy to enhance innovation, build scalability, and improve profitability, globally.:
- Assisting with various state and local indirect tax compliance projects
- Performing a detailed technical review of state and local indirect tax returns on engagements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual motor fuel returns to submit to the federal & state agencies.
- Preparation of reconciliations of motor fuel tax related accounts.
- Research tax issues and work on special projects when required.
- Assisting with engagement workflow management and supervising tax consultants on assigned engagements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and streamline work flow.
- Assisting with resolution of indirect tax notices from state and local jurisdictions
- Assisting with preparation of client billings and account reconciliations.
- Assisting with drafting new proposals for new and existing clients.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum master’s degree from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel).
- Understanding of indirect taxes, 1-2 years of experience in Indirect Taxation
