We are recruiting for the Associate 2 position in the Canada Tax for Cross Border USCT team with subject matter expertise in US Corporate Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting Industry. Working as Associate 2 in this team, your responsibilities will include: 

•Help KPMG corporate or partnership clients meet their state and federal tax obligations. This includes examining financial records - such as income statements and expenditure documentation - to determine clients' refunds or the amount of taxes owed, collaborating with colleagues to prepare tax returns, and filing appropriate paperwork, all while providing excellent customer service. •Provide day to day support to Senior Associates and Assistant Managers to assist with the delivery of tax computations and client service. •Develops knowledge of current tax legislation across US Business Tax. •Draft client correspondence documents (emails, letters, reports etc.) at relevant points throughout the compliance cycle.  •Demonstrates strong commitment to personal learning and development; acts as a brand ambassador to help attract top talent. •Understands key business accounting concepts such as depreciation, provisions and has a fair understanding of financial statements. 

This role is for you if you have  the below

•Minimum Master’s Degree from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance •Minimum of 1 year of professional experience, preferably in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 public accounting firm.  

Mandatory technical & functional skills

•Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel). •Understanding of federal taxes.

Preferred technical & functional skills

•Able to adapt quickly to use new technologies. •Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and to work proactively with minimal instruction. •Prioritization and time management skills. •Good communication and interpersonal skills.
