Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions leveraging emerging technologies. The role is critical in driving innovation through technologies such as blockchain, IoT, and AI, while providing technical leadership and mentorship. The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and sustainable cloud infrastructure aligned with organizational goals, contributing to business transformation and technological advancement.

Software Requirements

Required Software Proficiency:

• Microsoft Azure cloud services (Azure Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, AI/ML services) — robust experience in deploying, managing, and optimizing solutions in Azure environment

• Infrastructure as Code tools (ARM Templates, Terraform) — proven expertise in automating infrastructure deployment and management

• Scripting languages: PowerShell, Bash, or Azure CLI — advanced skills for automation and operational tasks

• CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) — experience in automating build, test, and deployment pipelines

• Containerization: Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes, AKS) — extensive hands-on experience in container deployment and scaling

Preferred Software Skills:

• Cloud security tools (Azure Security Center, Key Vault, Defender) — familiarity with implementing cloud security best practices

• Monitoring & logging solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) — experience with observability and operational performance tracking

• Cloud migration and hybrid cloud tools — experience in cloud transitions and multi-cloud environments

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure solutions aligned with business needs

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate technical requirements into effective cloud architectures

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort

• Conduct security assessments, ensure compliance, and maintain cloud solution integrity

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering best practices and continuous learning

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements proactively

• Document architectures, configurations, and procedures to ensure operational consistency and knowledge sharing

• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Programming Languages:

  • Essential: PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash — high proficiency in scripting for automation

  • Preferred: Python, Node.js for custom automation and integration tasks

• Databases/Data Management:

  • Experience with Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and other native cloud storage solutions

• Cloud Technologies:

  • Deep understanding of Azure core services; experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures is advantageous

• Frameworks and Libraries:

  • Experience with DevOps frameworks such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Kubernetes orchestration tools

• Development Tools and Methodologies:

  • Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines; experience with JIRA, Confluence, and relevant collaboration tools

• Security Protocols:

  • Knowledge of identity management, encryption, threat detection, compliance, and security best practices in Azure

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or related technical roles with Azure focus

• Demonstrated experience deploying, maintaining, and optimizing large-scale cloud infrastructures

• Proven track record of automating deployment and operational processes in cloud environments

• Experience in cloud migration, hybrid deployments, or multi-cloud strategies highly preferred

• Strong background working with cross-disciplinary teams using Agile or Scrum methodologies

Day-to-Day Activities

• Deploy, configure, and optimize Azure cloud solutions to support organizational and client initiatives

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment workflows, and operational tasks

• Collaborate with developers, security teams, and operations to ensure efficient, secure, and compliant cloud environments

• Monitor system health, usage, and security; identify and resolve issues proactively

• Maintain detailed documentation of architectures, processes, and operational procedures

• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and industry trend updates

• Share knowledge and best practices within the team and organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant field

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent are preferred

• Commitment to continuous professional development in cloud technologies and security
