JOB SUMMARY

The CAE Supervisor is responsible to lead a team of multi-disciplinary CAE engineers that deliver virtual prototypes in a timely fashion to drive the design of future vehicle programs. This position will have solid line reporting to the PBC Engineering Manager and dotted line reporting to the US CAE Manager. This position will also work alongside a US counterpart on initiatives and development for the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning & Strategy:

  • Technical Solutions: Candidate with 14+ experience to lead team of engineers in the development of technical solutions / CAE tools specific to Polaris vehicle systems.
  • Analysis Plans: Develop coordinated analysis plans that drive the vehicle design; including interaction with technical leaders from design, development, and test.
  • Tools: Lead or facilitate team research on new software and hardware tools for the practical application on  Polaris engineering problems.
  • Process: Ensure tools fit and advance the corporate engineering development process.
  • Knowledge Management: Facilitate the CAE group effort in the area of knowledge capture to utilizing a framework for leveraging historical data in the future.

Leadership and Technical Mentoring:

  • Provide technical leadership to direct reports in the CAE team you are responsible for.
  • Build, lead, coach, and develop a world class Engineering team at the Polaris Bangalore Center.
  • Responsible for setting goals, reviews, training, and professional development of the team.
  • Proactively develop employee capabilities through working relationships, sharing knowledge, and building networks across the company. Interact and work with resources from within the Polaris global engineering sites.
  • Support continuous improvement to drive better efficiencies in delivery and quality of work performed.
  • Grow technical specialists in key technical areas that benefit the corporate needs.
  • Set expectations of a learning environment and coaching environment.
  • Oversee deliverables to projects and ensure first time and on time

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Overall 14+ years of experience including 3+ Years in Engineering team management preferred.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems design, development, and analysis processes and tools.
  • Education: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, MS/ME/M.Tech or PhD preferred.
  • Strong background in numerical methods and theory.
  • CAE software diversity is a plus.
  • Ability to work in diverse and co-located teams/technology partners (domestic and international)
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in the attributes of durability, aero-thermal, NVH, performance, safety, and or vehicle dynamics.
  • Expert level working knowledge in one of the attributes above, for example solid background skills in the areas of FEA, solid mechanics, dynamics, vibration, shock and heat transfer.
  • Demonstrates the application of a broad engineering knowledge and advanced problem solving.
  • Experience with integrated cross-functional CAE model building.
  • Communicates in an articulate, professional, and responsive manner, to all levels of the organization.
  • Customer focus and recreational vehicle enthusiast is a plus!

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office working conditions.
  • Position located in Bangalore, India. Dynamic fast-paced team environment.
  • Possible travel to overseas engineering locations less than then 10%
