CIB-Corporate Banking - Senior AVP

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Research Associate to support its US Corporate Banking team. This role involves close collaboration with Relationship Managers to enhance client engagement, deepen product expertise, and contribute to credit and risk management processes. The associate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day client servicing, credit analysis, documentation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure the effective delivery of banking solutions.

The position offers significant exposure to origination and financing strategies, including the preparation of client pitch materials, PIBs, and analysis of credit agreements and legal documentation. The associate will also contribute to identifying credit-related insights that support corporate finance and capital markets transactions. This is a high-impact role with strong learning and development opportunities within the I&P CIB Corporate Banking business.


In this role, you will:

  • Act as an individual contributor across workstreams supporting Wells Fargo’s Corporate Banking offerings, including debt financing, FX, and rates products.

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating origination, financing, and refinancing opportunities across sectors.

  • Support the development of client pitch materials, PIBs, and credit-related documentation.

  • Prepare credit memos, annual reviews, and borrower reports, including company overviews, industry analysis, and financial performance assessments.

  • Utilize CRM systems to track client engagement and profitability metrics.

  • Coordinate with product partners and support outreach efforts to enhance client coverage.

  • Monitor market developments and prepare sector updates and newsletters.

  • Conduct borrower rating analysis, capital structure reviews, and covenant tracking.

  • Draft non-borrower reports, CAC memos, and other credit-related documentation.

  • Develop proficiency in market intelligence tools such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Moody’s, S&P, and Thomson One.

  • Mentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance on analytical tasks, tools, and best practices to support their professional development and enhance team effectiveness

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions to drive execution and deliver client solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA, CA, CFA or Masters in Finance from a premier education institute

  • 4+ years’ experience in Corporate Banking, Credit research or Debt advisory

  • Experience in working in Energy & Power (preferable)

  • Strong inclination towards building a career in Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking or Capital Markets

  • Good understanding of Credit metrics, Covenants, Capital structure, Financial statement and ratio analysis

  • Good understanding of Market trends and ability to identify opportunities basis ongoing trends

  • Impeccable communication and interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders

  • Strong logical, analytical skills and a systematic problem solving approach

  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Applications – Power Point and Excel

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality of deliverables

  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management

  • Results driven, accountable and ability to work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
