Job Description

Cloud DevOps Engineer

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling, and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical analysis, integration, and stakeholder management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and detail-oriented teammates.

You'll play a critical role in integrating Kubernetes cluster deployment within the infrastructure while managing the transfer of specific technical layers from the data platform to infrastructure. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (software development teams, cybersecurity experts, network specialists, DevOps teams, and data scientists), ensure seamless collaboration, and provide technical leadership and guidance to achieve high-quality, scalable solutions.

You’ll specifically take care of analyzing existing solutions and deploying automated layers, but also ensuring robust security practices and compliance with industry regulations.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Performing technical analysis of existing data platform solutions and alternative technologies.

  • Validating the automated deployment of specific layers and conducting impact analysis.

  • Managing the integration and transfer of container management platforms, cluster orchestration tools, and infrastructure monitoring systems.

  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program objectives are met.

  • Collaborating with diverse teams to ensure cohesive and effective implementation.

  • Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development teams.

  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and conducting regular security assessments.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Significant experience in container management platforms, including creation, deployment, and orchestration.

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Kubectl API, Helm Charts, and virtualization solutions like Harvester.

  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems and administration.

  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like Powershell, Python, and Ansible.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices such as Syslog, LDAP, and 802.1x, with a cybersecurity background being a plus.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols and architectures.

  • Proven ability to provide technical guidance, manage technical risks, and define development strategies.

  • Fluent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

  • Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling.

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.

  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility.

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment.

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning programs.

  • Progress towards leadership or technical expert roles in the future.

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
