Team Overview 

1. The position in discussion is with the Tax Technology (ES) team consists of highly skilled resources that are dedicated to supporting our member firms, learning and deploying leading practices and innovative solutions, and helping our clients grow. 
2. Our team comprises software engineers, technical leads, architects, Business Analysts, PMs, testers, test architect, data scientists, data engineers etc. with strong technical and tax domain knowledge. Team builds data/engineering products and solutions for our tax business and clients.  Client engagements are run leveraging these products & solutions.
3. We are looking for a business analyst who will work as part of the product development team to execute tasks which can affect more than one office, department, or client. In addition to helping in process improvements, the BA will be working primarily on analysis in the areas of the GMS practice to determine its objectives and how it operates within the information technology framework. The suitable candidate will need to build their knowledge to integrate across the diverse functional processes and accountabilities of the GMS technology tools with a focus of working on the GMS application. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Management and Backlog Management:
  • Support requirement gathering sessions and assist in translating them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Prepare user stories, acceptance criteria, and assist in backlog refinement.
• Sprint Planning and Execution:
  • Participate in sprint refinement call, and sprint planning call, to refine the user stories in collaboration with the seniors and the technical teams. Ensure the backlog is ready for the upcoming 2 sprints.
• Ensure that the development team understands the requirements and the value of each backlog item.
• Collaborate with seniors and technical teams to maintain the product backlog and keep it up to date. 
• Participate in all the scrum ceremonies to monitor the progress of the sprint and provide guidance and clarification as needed.
• Process Improvement and Change Management:
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and methodologies in business analysis.
  • Conduct process mapping and document current state vs. future state workflows to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Data Analysis and Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
• Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on projects.
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of business analysis deliverables.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of business analysis processes and outputs.
  • Participate in functional reviews, testing, and ensure requirements traceability through test cases.
• Market and User Research:
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends.
  • Participate in market research and user interviews to understand customer needs and market trends.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer needs, ensuring business analysis and product activities deliver high-quality, customer-centric outcomes.

 

• Documentation:
  • Document business requirements, configuration changes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to all relevant parties.

Mandatory Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or a related field.
• Proficiency in writing clear and concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Strong skills in managing and communicating with stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, provide updates, and align business priorities.
• Ability to use data and analytics to make informed product decisions and measure the success of product features.
• Actively participate in test reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment
• Basic understanding of web technologies and cloud services - Azure
• Ability to work under guidance and should have passion to learn and adapt to new technologies
