Job Description
Consultant OCI Specialist
OCI Solutions Architect (Hands-On Lead)
Expert-Level, Hands-On Technical Leadership for Enterprise Cloud
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on OCI Solutions Architect to spearhead the architecture, implementation, and automation of our enterprise-scale Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment. This is not a traditional lead architect role—here, you will be expected to roll up your sleeves and lead by example, directly executing technical solutions, writing code, and troubleshooting complex issues alongside your team.
Job Details
- Job Title: OCI Solutions Architect (Hands-On Lead)
- Location: Bengalore
- Job Type: [Full-Time/Contract]
- Experience Level: 8+ Years (Expert Level)
- Certification Required: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2023 Certified Architect Professional (Active)
Key Responsibilities
I. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation
- Terraform Mastery: Architect, develop, and maintain a robust library of enterprise-grade Terraform modules for provisioning all OCI resources, including VCNs, compute instances, Autonomous Databases, IAM policies, and OKE clusters. Enforce state management best practices and module versioning.
- Ansible and Configuration Management: Utilize Ansible playbooks to automate post-provisioning configuration, patching, and hardening of all OCI compute instances (bare metal and virtual machines), minimizing configuration drift.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate IaC workflows into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) to enable automated, consistent, and repeatable infrastructure deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
- OCI CLI and SDK Development: Write advanced automation scripts using the OCI Python SDK and OCI CLI tools to manage non-standard tasks, perform bulk operations, and automate reporting and auditing functions.
II. Deep Networking & Security Implementation
- VCN Architecture & Routing Implementation: Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of complex OCI VCN routing, Security Lists, Network Security Groups, and stateful/stateless firewall rules. Implement hub-and-spoke topologies using Dynamic Routing Gateways (DRG v2).
- Hybrid Connectivity Implementation: Configure and manage physical OCI FastConnect circuits and site-to-site VPN tunnels. Troubleshoot BGP routing, MTU mismatches, and latency issues in collaboration with network service providers.
- Security Posture & IAM: Implement fine-grained IAM policies using OCI Identity Domains. Configure and manage OCI Vault for secret rotation and management. Utilize OCI Cloud Guard and Security Advisor services to actively remediate security posture violations.
- WAF and Load Balancing: Configure and tune OCI Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and Load Balancers (LBaaS) for SSL termination, traffic shaping, and backend health checks.
III. Database & Platform Engineering
- Database Provisioning & Migration: Provision, manage, and optimize highly available Oracle databases on OCI (Exadata Cloud Service, BaseDB, Autonomous Transaction Processing, Autonomous Data Warehouse). Execute migrations using tools such as Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM).
- Kubernetes Management (OKE): Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters using OCI Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE), including node pool management, VCN-native pod networking, persistent volume claims, and Helm chart deployments.
- Performance Benchmarking: Utilize OCI Observability and Management services, specifically Monitoring and Logging Analytics, to diagnose performance bottlenecks at the infrastructure level (e.g., I/O throughput using fio, network latency using iperf3).
Required Hands-On Technical Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years dedicated to architecting and engineering solutions within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform.
- Demonstrated expertise in Terraform and Ansible (mandatory).
- Advanced proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation.
- In-depth, hands-on experience with networking fundamentals: TCP/IP stack, BGP, VPN, DNS, and load balancing algorithms.
- Experience administering Linux systems (RHEL/OEL) in a cloud environment.
- Active Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2025 Certified Architect Professional certification.
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OKE).
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills for diagnosing complex, multi-layered technical issues.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while leading and mentoring technical teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and present technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of staying current with evolving Oracle and cloud-native technologies.
Why Join Us?
- Lead the technical evolution of our OCI platform with full ownership of architecture and delivery.
- Work alongside a passionate team of engineers in a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Competitive compensation and benefits package.
- Opportunities for professional growth and continuous learning in the rapidly evolving cloud space.
