Consulting Member of Technical Staff (IC5) - Applications Engineer
Are you passionate about blockchain technology, fintech/digital assets, and applying AI to revolutionize how major financial institutions across the globe implement real-world risk management, supervision controls and address regulatory compliance needs on a large scale? Oracle Digital Assets Data Nexus (DADN) is an enterprise-grade platform designed to help financial institutions issue, govern, and integrate digital assets at scale, leveraging Oracle Blockchain Platform tokenization and Oracle AI Database capabilities.
As a Consulting Member of Technical Staff (IC5) in the development team, you will lead the design and development of AI powered applications and reference solutions for the Digital Assets Data Nexus product. As an AI applications engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and building an advanced suite of risk management, anomaly detection, reporting and analytics applications for blockchain-based digital assets transactions. Leveraging Oracle's Blockchain Platform, Oracle AI Database, vector search, graph database technologies, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), you will develop core capabilities including data ingestion, vector embeddings, dynamic address risk scoring, behavioral profiling, transaction pattern detection, and integrated compliance reporting. Your work will enable the creation of a state-of-the-art platform that empowers compliance teams with real-time insights, enables AI-assisted investigations, provides automated controls through smart contracts, and delivers robust auditability. You will work closely with product management, architects, and partner teams to define requirements, produce functional specs, deliver production-ready apps. Additionally, you will be required to technically lead and mentor a small team of developers.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise applications preferably in financial services domain with responsibilities that span design, development, and delivery.
- Strong design skills for data-intensive applications and services, with emphasis on reliability, security, and performance.
- Hands-on experience building AI-based or assisted applications: LLM integration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, prompt engineering, guardrail patterns, generative and agentic workflows, and evaluation of grounded outputs.
- Experience with at least one agentic framework, such as LangChain, AutoGen etc.
- Strong Oracle Database skills: Oracle data ingestion and transformation, embedded SQL, PL/SQL stored procedures, data modeling, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting for high-volume analytical workloads.
- Experience building analytics and compliance/risk applications using one or more of: Oracle APEX, Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) or equivalent technologies.
- Experience designing data ingestion/replication pipelines (batch and/or streaming) from transactional systems into analytical stores; familiarity with event-driven architectures is a plus.
- Experience building APIs and integrations (REST/gRPC), authentication/authorization, and secure data access patterns suitable for regulated environments.
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java/Go/Node.js) and one scripting language (Python), plus strong engineering fundamentals (testing, CI/CD, observability).
- Experience deploying and operating applications on Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI.)
- Domain knowledge in financial services and digital assets: compliance reporting, audit trails, transaction monitoring, AML/KYC concepts, and operational workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to author design documents, lead technical discussions, and collaborate across globally distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in Computer Science
- Working experience with one or more of risk scoring, fraud detection, AML and regulatory reporting systems in traditional financial institutions
- Experience with blockchain technologies (Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum/Besu, and others), their deployments and operations in fintech or traditional financial services.
- Familiarity with smart contract development, and/or blockchain integration patterns.
- Experience applying graph analytics for fraud ring detection, entity resolution, and suspicious relationship discovery in transaction networks.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration or durable execution systems
- Familiarity with Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) / Financial Crime and Compliance solutions, and experience integrating with enterprise risk/compliance systems.
- Exposure to modern cryptography and security primitives (PKI, key management, identity, OAuth2/OIDC), especially in financial services contexts.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
