Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Jira Administrator (Server & Cloud) with 5+ years of hands-on expertise in building, configuring, administering, and optimizing Jira environments from scratch.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in:
End-to-end Jira setup (Server & Cloud)
Designing workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes
Custom field creation and automation
Groovy scripting (ScriptRunner preferred)
Environment migration (Test Production)
Backup & Restore operations
Linux system administration (for Jira Server environments)
This role requires both technical depth and platform ownership mindset, ensuring secure, scalable, and well-governed Jira implementations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Install, configure, and administer Jira Server/Data Center and Jira Cloud environments.
Build Jira instance from scratch including:
Project creation
Workflow design
Screen schemes
Field configurations
Permission schemes
Notification schemes
Design and implement scalable and maintainable Jira configurations aligned with business requirements.
Create and manage custom fields, custom screens, and field contexts.
Develop and maintain automation rules (Automation for Jira).
Implement Groovy scripts using ScriptRunner for advanced customization.
Design and manage migration process between environments (Dev/Test Production).
Perform Jira backup, restore, disaster recovery testing.
Troubleshoot performance issues, indexing issues, and application-level problems.
Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Jira configurations.
Ensure governance, audit compliance, and access control best practices.
Provide L2/L3 support and mentor junior administrators.
