Data Engineer Team Lead


MRI Software is seeking a Data Engineering Lead to design, build, and manage data integration solutions for MRI PMS systems and MRI Contract Intelligence. This role requires expertise in Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server, Azure Data Factory, SQL, EventHub, and cloud-based data workflows. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading technical implementations, mentoring junior developers, working with global teams, and engaging with customers and stakeholders to drive seamless and scalable data integration.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Development

  • An 8-12 year experienced person who can design, develop, and maintain Alteryx workflows for ETL/ELT processes, data transformation, and automation.
  • Manage Alteryx Server, including workflow deployment, scheduling, security, and performance optimization.
  • Build data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, EventHub, and SQL-based workflows for cloud integrations.
  • Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage strategies to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Develop custom scripts in Python, R, or PowerShell to enhance Alteryx functionality.
  • Implement API integrations to connect data sources, automate processes, and enable real-time data streaming.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance best practices across all data engineering solutions.

Mentorship & Collaboration

  • Mentor and coach junior developers, ensuring best practices in data engineering and workflow design.
  • Provide technical leadership and conduct code/workflow reviews to maintain high standards.
  • Work collaboratively with global teams across different time zones, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Collaborate with business leaders, product teams, and customers to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work closely with customer success teams to ensure smooth implementation and troubleshooting of data integrations.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration, or related fields.
  • Expertise in Alteryx Designer for ETL, macros, automation, and API integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx Server for workflow deployment, scheduling, and security management.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure Data Factory, EventHub, and cloud-based workflow automation is desirable.
  • Advanced SQL skills for query optimization, database management, and data modeling.
  • Experience integrating Alteryx with Azure and other cloud-based solutions.
  • Ability to mentor junior developers, conduct code/workflow reviews, and drive best practices.
  • Strong communication and soft skills, with experience working in global, cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python, R, or PowerShell for scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with real-time data streaming frameworks.
  • Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning data pipelines preferrable.
  • Prior experience in real estate software, PropTech, or contract intelligence solutions.
